Dear CWA of Virginia Friends,

For eight years, Janet Robey has been the State Director for Concerned Women for America of Virginia. We remember back in 2007 when we asked Janet to step into the position of State Director. She diligently prayed about it and eventually accepted with the understanding that she would commit to taking the position for only one year. We agreed, knowing full well the Lord was at work and that she would be with us much longer. Well, eight years later, the one year has concluded, and Janet is stepping down from the position of State Director. Though saddened, we are honored that she graced us with her tremendous work for each of those years. As of December 31, Janet will be stepping down from the position of State Director, yet will be staying with us as a local Prayer/Action Chapter.

Here is what she said on the matter:

“It is with a heavy heart that I need to share that as of December 31, 2015, I am stepping down as Virginia’s State Director for Concerned Women for America (CWA).

“The life experience, education and opportunities that CWA has provided for me over the past eight years are invaluable, and I would recommend this organization to anyone who wishes to be educated and engaged in current issues.

“As I age (I hate to admit that), I have found it is increasingly more difficult to juggle CWA, my full time job and family responsibilities. I will continue to be active with CWA including facilitating a Prayer/Action Chapter (I absolutely love my ladies and the prayer warriors that they are). This conservative activist is not stepping down from the fight, just the position.

“I look forward to our continued relationship as we battle on until HE comes. After December 31, you will be able to reach me at janetrobey55@gmail.com, and my phone number stays the same 434-401-8852.”

Through the years Janet has made countless trips to Richmond to lobby legislators on CWA’s core issues. Through the years, she has taken the time to encourage the state legislators with cookies, flowers and, when the flu was going around, hand sanitizer with a tag that said, “Stay Well. Virginia families are counting on you! Psalm 24:3-5”. She has attended multiple demonstrations in opposition to abortion, in support of marriage and many others. She has spoken in front of a myriad of groups on an array of topics and attended meetings all around the state representing CWA. Through e-alerts, Janet encouraged prayer and action on behalf of Lisa Miller as she held her ground to protect her daughter from going into the custody of a woman living in a lesbian relationship. She attended many of Lisa’s court hearings as well. Thank God with us for blessing CWA with such a godly representative.

Every month we spotlight a director on CWA national’s homepage. In October we featured Janet. Please take a moment to read what she wrote for us.

We will miss Janet tremendously, but look forward to her continued leadership with her Chapter and her involvement with CWA of Virginia. Know that we are working on a replacement. After December 31, you can contact us in the Field Department for any help you need.

Sincerely,
