Target is Now in the Business of Selling Sex Toys? Seriously?!

Seriously?! Target is selling sex toys? Yes, the latest filth to be peddled by the “50 Shades of Grey” marketing campaign in advance of the coming movie release is this display of branded sex toy items prominently displayed at Target stores nationwide. As you can see, not only are the items placed on an eye-catching end cap display, but they are in full view of children and only arms-length away from children’s cartoon character toothbrushes.

The book “50 Shades of Grey” has been called “soft porn” and even “mommy porn”. No matter what it is called, it is sexual exploitation. The destructive grasp of pornography has ruined countless lives of all involved, from the creators of the sinful books, magazines, movies and other forms of pornographic media to the victims caught in the web of fantasy and deceit.

God instructs us in Matthew 5:28, “But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” And then in Psalm 101:3, “I will set nothing wicked before my eyes …” Indeed, pornography is wicked and is something that surely is not pleasing to Him.

We expect Target to be socially responsible and to not help further the growing epidemic of pornography.

Take Action: Let Target know that it is not acceptable for them to sell these or any sex toys.  Contact Target Corporate at 1-800-440-0680 and/or click here to contact them online.  Also, contact your local Target store manager and ask them to please remove these items from their store.

Pray: Pray that retailers would not choose profit over morality. Pray the hearts of those caught up in pornography, whether creating or consuming it, would be softened to God’s love and forgiveness. May they turn to Him and away from the deception.
