Washington D.C. – Penny Nance, Concerned Women for America CEO and President, says in the brief statement below that North Dakota has a right to fight for life in their state:

“North Dakota, with quiet, effective, and bipartisan cooperation, has been at the forefront of the pro-life legislative victories that are sweeping the nation, and I support them in their fight to protect the unborn. North Dakota is the first state to ban all gender-based abortions and abortions based on genetic “abnormalities. In fact, the North Dakota Legislature passed a ban on abortion when a heartbeat is detectable. Now the great state has a chance to protect life even further.

“CWA applauds the North Dakota legislature for passing the Human Life Amendment with bipartisan support in 2013. It now heads to a vote by the people. As an amendment to the State Constitution, the one sentence addition provides a foundation upon which North Dakotans can express their core values as just and compassionate people who love life. Measure 1, on the ballot in November 2014, will ask, ‘Should these words be added to the State Constitution: “The inalienable right to life of every human being at any stage of development must be recognized and protected.”?’”
