Common Core Standards Revisions
In 2013 Gov. Nathan Deal signed an Executive Order asking the State Board of Education (SBOE) to review the Common Core English Language Arts and Mathematics standards. The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) has completed the revision process of the standards, and they are now asking for public comment on the revisions.

The survey for the revised standards will be posted for 60 days of public review and comment from November 12, 2014, through January 10, 2015. The draft revised standards and public feedback will be presented to the Georgia State Board of Education on January 15, 2015, for approval.

Click here to access the revised Common Core English Language Arts and Mathematics standards and public survey. We recommend the following action items:

  1. Open the revised standards documents for both English Language Arts and Mathematics. Review carefully both the current standards (left column) and the proposed standards (right column).
  2. Click on the survey links to submit recommended changes to either or both the current standards and any of the recommended proposed standards.

Please let your voice be heard concerning the Common Core English Language Arts and Mathematics standards. Before the holiday season gets underway, take time to review and comment on the proposed changes.
