We lift up our eyes to the heavens,
Knowing that our help comes only from You, O Lord.
We trust neither in armies, nor political leaders;
Nor does our trust lie in economic or scientific advancements.
We recognize our helplessness and our dependence on You alone.
Holy Father, we lift up world events,
And American international policy.
Everywhere we look there seems to be turmoil and unrest.
We pray for Your peace.
We pray for Your wisdom as to how and when America should act;
We pray Your will be done, above and beyond our limited human vision;
We bless and pray for Israel;
We pray for those who are oppressed in every country in the world.
We pray that Your Gospel, Your joy, and Your peace
Would reach every person on earth.
Give us, O Lord, the passion and the courage,
To accomplish the task of Your Great Commission.
We thank You for the freedom we enjoy in America.
We pray, as Your Word says, that we might not use this freedom
As an opportunity for the flesh and sin
But as a wonderful chance to show Your Love and Glory to a hurting world.
