Washington, D.C. – Moments ago, the U.S. Senate voted to confirm Sen. Jeff Sessions as Attorney General of the United States 52-47. Penny Nance, CEO and President, of Concerned Women for America (CWA), the nation’s largest public policy women’s organization, made the following statement congratulating the new Attorney General:

“Congratulations to newly confirmed Attorney General Jeff Sessions on behalf of the nearly half a million members of Concerned Women for America. The President picked the best person for the job, and I am pleased to see the Senate confirm him.

“Our grassroots worked tirelessly to ensure the American people have an Attorney General who will enforce the law with fairness and equity for every American. Attorney General Sessions has nearly 40 years of experience defending justice, civil rights, and the rule of law during his service as a U.S. attorney, the Alabama Attorney General, and a U.S. Senator.

“Americans deserve an Attorney General who will enforce the rule of law regardless of their political or personal opinions, and that is exactly what newly confirmed Attorney General Sessions has promised. We look forward to the Department of Justice renewing its focus on the fair and impartial application of justice under Attorney General Jeff Sessions.”
