Big Love, a new show on HBO dramatizes the life of a polygamist family. While the unhappy realities are touched on by the show’s producers, it is crafted more like a soap opera than a documentary. Dr. Janice Crouse, Senior Fellow with the Beverly LaHaye Institute, says that the real danger of the show is planting seeds that make the discussion and consideration of polygamy less repulsive to our culture, furthering the decline of traditional marriage.
