Please pray for Whitney Johnson. We shared her story on the Sean Hannity show on Friday and have been promoting her story nationwide. Today she sent us an update and prayer request, and she said we could share with you.

She’s a beautiful 26-year-old mother with M.S. and, due to ObamaCare, her health plan was canceled. The problems are getting worse. Please read and pray. This is happening to real Americans. Whitney’s request, “Pray for me this morning, I actually just found out moments ago that in order to be added to my husband’s insurance (which is the route I thought I was going to be able to go) it is going to cost me $900 per month, and the insurance is awful. It doesn’t cover my treatments, and I have to pay $5k out of pocket before any co-insurance even picks up! We simply can not afford $900 per month for my health care alone. I also got word that my friend with type 1 diabetes just got quoted a premium of $600 per month with a $14,000 deductible!!! This is just outrageous. I trust The Lord will provide for me and my family or just heal my body so I no longer need treatments. I ask for you to pray.” #teamwhitney

Here is Whitney’s original letter to us at CWA:

I am one of the Americans that have already been affected by the Affordable Care Act. I am one of many who have been lied to over and over again by our president. I am one of many other fellow countrymen who have preexisting conditions. I am one who has already received my termination of coverage letter from my current insurance company. The letter informed me, as of December 31, I no longer have medical insurance coverage through my current provider because my plan “does not conform to the Affordable Care Act.” I too, as well as you, sat and listened to Obama promise that if “you like your current insurance, you can keep your current insurance.” We also heard him tell us as a nation that we would save on average of $2,500 per household. So when I opened my letter I received from my insurance company, I felt like I was living what Nancy Pelosi said back in 2010, that “we have to pass the Healthcare bill so that we can find out what is in it.” When I opened my letter I did indeed find out firsthand what was in ObamaCare — lies, lies, and more lies. Before you tune me out and accuse me of being a radical conservative, understand that I’m neither a democrat nor republican; I’m an American. An American that wants to see our country restored to its original intent. A country for the people, by the people. A country that once again can stand up and say, “In God we trust!” I want my little boy to be raised in an America where he still has opportunities. Where he learns to work hard for what he earns; not stand in line and wait for a hand out.

I am a 26-year-old, middle class American, a loving mother, and a proud wife. I do, in fact, have two preexisting conditions. Preexisting conditions were one of the key driving points to why ObamaCare needed to be passed, because it would help so many Americans. They tried to persuade us that ObamaCare would come to the rescue of so many individuals who couldn’t get treatments because they could not find an insurance company to accept them under their current medical state. So please, explain to me why, now that ObamaCare is passed, am I struggling more than ever?

I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in the fall of 2010, and diagnosed with severe Osteonecrosis in the spring of 2013. I have been through two relapses that left me in the hospital over three weeks. I have had two surgeries, one plasma exchange, monthly infusions, IVIG treatments, intense steroid treatments, and the list goes on — all to help me maintain quality of life. I easily incur over $350,000 worth of medical bills per year. My insurance coverage has been a blessing from God. Without it, I would have not been able to afford the treatments or care I routinely require. I would not have been able to live to the standard of living I am now. Insurance to me was not just for your yearly checkup, it influenced the longevity of my life.

When I received the letter informing me my coverage was ending, I started reading further to see what options I was going to have. The only instruction the letter gave me was to log onto www.healthcare.gov. Wow, that gave me as much hope as staying dry in a rain storm without an umbrella. I still to this day have not even been able to log on to that train wreck of a website to even see what it would offer me. I waited for four hours, five different times just to try to log on. So, on to plan B. I tried researching and comparing rates with other insurance companies. If I tried to find a comparable plan to what I had, my monthly cost went from $325 to now over $1,000; that was just a quote. I was told I should expect that cost to go up. Remind me again how ObamaCare was supposed to help so much with preexisting conditions? I wish I could say how wonderful it is that now I cannot be turned down by any insurance company, but what does it matter if I cannot afford to pay the new premiums? I HAD affordable health care. Now, I don’t have any health care coverage, with my only option being insurance I cannot afford.

I know I have five more IVIG treatments coming up over the next six months that cost $40,000 each. My insurance coverage ends in December, and I have to have these treatments. As a mother with a brand new baby, it’s a little unnerving to know that I may not be able to receive the care I need. It’s a little unnerving to know my health insurance that was working just fine for me was taken from me. The doctors I have used for years that have kept me this healthy will be taken from me. Ronald Reagan said it best, “Government’s first duty is to protect people, not run their lives.”

Let me tell you friend, we as a nation have been complacent long enough. We have sat back and let the Affordable Care Act pass by not getting involved. I hear people say all of the time “I don’t want to talk politics.” When politics start affecting you personally, you will want to start talking. Let me assure you, the Affordable Care Act will directly affect your finances and your health care. Your taxes are going up and you will not see any benefits for four years, that’s not my opinion — that’s a fact. It’s perceived that the ObamaCare website alone will cost taxpayers over one billion dollars. The longer we keep telling ourselves that “everything will be ok, and let’s give it a try” the more damage is going to be done. I have been debating the past couple of days with some folks who just cannot seem to get a grasp as to how individually intrusive this Affordable Care Act is. This growing outcry against ObamaCare is not the Tea Party or Grassroots trying to “sabotage” Obama, this “mandate” has affected me personally and will affect you. We as a nation need to stand with the likes of Senator Ted Cruz and Senator Mike Lee who are committed to stopping ObamaCare. It is not too late to make a difference; it is not too late for change. The worst thing we can do as a nation is stay complacent.

I am one of many who this has already impacted, and there are others, needing major medical treatments, who have been left in limbo. Every American across our country, rich, poor, young, or old, will be impacted by this. So I ask of you, stand up and make a difference — fight ObamaCare!

“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” — Norman Thomas
