Dear CWA of Washington Member,
General Douglas MacArthur gave a speech to the Salvation Army, December 12, 1951, stating:
“History fails to record a single precedent in which nations subject to moral decay have not passed into political and economic decline. There has been either a spiritual awakening to overcome the moral lapse, or a progressive deterioration leading to ultimate national disaster.”
“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.” I Timothy 2:1-3
Primary Election Tuesday, August 7, REMEMBER TO MAIL IN YOUR BALLOT! Research the candidates, pray for wisdom and vote according to your sincerely held Biblical values! Pray for strength, wisdom and protection for Christian campaign managers and key staff working for Christian candidates. Pray for Christians to be bold with humility, seeking God’s guidance in their campaigns and hearing the voice of the Lord.
Our Encourage-A-Legislator Campaign needs YOU! Please contact the state office by e-mail or telephone and volunteer to pray for a state legislator during the next legislative session. You will pray daily and mail a weekly postcard to encourage and inspire our state leaders. Help us cover all 143 legislators with prayer in 2013! Application is attached.
Referendum 74: Pray for passage in November. Remember and share the 3 r’s: Referendum 74 rejects the redefinition-of-marriage bill (SB 6239). This issue is solely about retaining the traditional Biblical definition of marriage as between one man and one woman. Same-sex and senior couples already have nearly all the benefits of marriage through a bill passed three years ago that gave them everything but the title “marriage”. Let’s protect our family structures and the unique relationship and purpose of marriage: the natural male-female balance and future generations. Only by voting “REJECTED” on R-74 in November will we stop same-sex marriage from becoming law in Washington State.
